SMRU is committed to develop the area where the company operates by building public infrastructure as well as through its community development programs. Since 2008 the company has constructed 25 km of new road which interconnect different villages formerly accessible only though single track path. In 2010, the company has setup diesel power supply center along with the cable distribution network to supply electricity to houses. SMRU has provided the area with job opportunities for the local workforce. The workforce also benefits from the company training and education program to enhance their skills and knowledge.
